The Morristown Gateway Museum also operates the Red Barn Preserve located at 518 River Road East.
Red Barn Preserve is a 160-acre nature preserve and wetlands open to the public year-round.
Catch a trailhead from the Red Barn or at our new parking area closer to town.
Follow the signs for the Blue Heron Rookery Trail.
Alternatively, you can easily find directions to the Red Barn Preserve through our Google Maps link in the website footer.
The Red Barn Preserve land was donated to the Museum through the generosity of long time residents, and founders of the first Morristown Community Museum on their property, Allan and Lorraine Bogardus.
The Board of the Morristown Gateway Museum has been working closely with the Thousand Islands Land Trust (TILT) to develop a system of trails. This work continues to this day, and we thank our volunteers for all of the work and upkeep involved.
